The founders of the many strong brands that continue its success stories under the Rotkäppchen-Mumm Sektkellereien umbrella were far-sighted, courageous, innovative entrepreneurs who focused upon a product’s quality. Our roots go back very far, as far as 1507 for spirits and 1811 for our well-known sparkling-wine brands, to be precise. What was first seen at Kloss & Foerster in Freyburg (Unstrut) in 1856, had a sequel in 1993, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, when there was another management-buy-out and five senior managers - Gunter Heise, Dr. Lutz Lange, Jutta Polomski, Ulrich Wiegel and Hans-Jürgen Krieger - and the Harald Eckes-Chantré family took over Rotkäppchen and became responsible for its revival.
The freedom of taking important decisions based upon tradition, expertise and connoisseurship and all the responsibility it has thus shouldered have made the company the market leader when it comes to sparkling wine and spirits. It now runs five plants in Germany, and the acquisitions it made at the beginning of this millennium have indeed all been very important.
Rotkäppchen-Mumm is a brand designer with strong and modern brands, a stable ownership structure, a clear vision of the future and a staff who are fully committed to their company’s successful advancement.
And no wonder: after all, Rotkäppchen-Mumm sees itself as a company that fulfils the obligations it has entered into vis-a-vis its staff and its trading partners and suppliers. This thoughtfulness also characterises our actions outside and beyond the company, manifesting itself in our commitment to towns, regions and the country, cultural institutions, associations and confederations and other civic organisations.
